Night Prayer. 8:30pm, First Sundays

Night Prayer is for everyone looking for peace, for comfort, for a quiet place to pray.

At Night Prayer there is no sermon, no dogma.

Just a half-hour of peaceful music, thoughtful prayer, tradition and candelight.

Our choir, Schola Nocturna, leads us in Night Prayer.
Night Prayer takes place at the Episcopal Parish of the Messiah in Newton, and everyone is welcome. To learn more about Night Prayer follow the links at the top of this page, and for directions, click here.

Night Prayer returns on Sunday, August 3 @ 8:30pm
"Night Prayer," an evening of music and prayer, invites you to join us on August 3 at 8:30pm for an evening of Anglican and traditional chant in English and Latin. There will be no Night Prayer in July, but you're invited to listen to the BBC choral evensong service at www.bbc.co.uk/radio3/choralevensong, or to pray the Daily Office online at missionstclare.com

Support the Newton Food Pantry
You are invited to join Night Prayer and the Parish of the Messiah in supporting the Newton Food Pantry. There will be a collection box by the main entrance to the church, where you can bring canned and dry goods (pasta, soups, and more). There is a great deal of "hidden" poverty in Newton, from house-bound elders to young families recently out of work. At this time of year especially, when folks have to chose between getting groceries and having heat, your donation to the Newton Food Pantry means a lot. Thank you.
